Domain Terms
These terms cover domain registrations, renewals, transfers and related administration purchased through CloudHosting.lu. They apply with our Service Terms and Billing, Cancellation and Refund Policy.
1. Your domain order
Check the spelling, extension, registration period and registrant details before ordering. An availability result or payment does not reserve a domain. Registration is complete only when the relevant registry accepts it. If an order cannot be supplied, we will explain the outcome and refund any amount due for the unfulfilled order.
You are responsible for choosing a name that does not infringe another person’s rights, providing accurate registrant details and completing required verification. Eligibility, supporting documents and deadlines vary by extension. Failure to meet an applicable registry requirement may lead to suspension or cancellation.
2. Registrar and registry rules
We arrange domain services through registrar partners. The applicable registrar agreement, registry eligibility and dispute rules apply to your domain. For generic extensions, relevant ICANN policies also apply. The rules and restrictions for the extension form part of the information provided for your order; they do not remove mandatory rights you have against us.
Registration gives you the right to use a domain for its registration period, subject to those rules. It does not give ownership of the extension or guarantee indefinite renewal, a particular resale value or continued availability after expiry.
3. Renewal and expiry
Keep your account email and payment details current. Check the renewal date and processing deadline in your customer account. Where automatic renewal applies, processing may occur before the expiry date; the Billing, Cancellation and Refund Policy explains our standard timing.
If you no longer need a domain, the usual option is to disable automatic renewal before its processing deadline and let the registration expire. Some extensions require a particular non-renewal procedure or notice period. Follow the applicable extension rules or contact support before the deadline. Disabling renewal does not reverse a renewal already completed.
Expiry may interrupt websites, email and other services. Grace periods, restoration options and charges vary by registry; no single recovery period applies to all extensions. A domain may eventually become available to someone else. Export the data you need and update services that depend on the domain before it ends.
4. Completed operations and deletion
We do not offer change-of-mind refunds for completed registrations, renewals, transfers, restorations or other domain operations. Transferring a domain elsewhere does not refund earlier registration or renewal fees. This commercial rule does not exclude a refund or other remedy required by law.
Early deletion is a separate request and may carry a registry or administration charge. We will confirm whether deletion is available and agree any charge with you before proceeding. Deletion does not create a refund entitlement for a completed operation, subject to mandatory legal remedies. It may end the domain’s operation before the paid registration period expires.
5. Transfers and account security
Transfers depend on the registry and registrar rules, including applicable authorisation and transfer locks. We will explain the requirements and any charge before processing your request. A lock or restriction will only be used where the applicable rules and law allow it.
Protect your account and transfer credentials. Tell us promptly if contact details change or you suspect unauthorised access. Cancelling hosting does not automatically cancel domain renewal; each service must be managed separately.
6. Abuse and support
The Acceptable Use Policy applies to domain services. We may take necessary, proportionate action against abuse or act on a binding legal or registry requirement. Report misuse through our abuse-reporting page.
