Staging Websites
A staging website is a website with a particular suffix that does not consume a ‘Website’ package allowance. A staging website has all the same features as a standard websites except domain mapping and emails. By default all staging websites are Noindex. The Robot.txt is exclude from cloning a staging website and while pushing a staging website live.
Resellers are required to set their own staging domain.
In the Website listing a staging website can be identified by a STG tag.
Configure staging functionality
In order to successfully create staging website the following settings must be configured:
- The hosting package must allow ‘Staging websites’
- A staging domain must be configured in ‘Settings’ > Platform’ > ‘Platform domains’ > ‘Staging domain’ (The nameservers for this domain must be delegated to your hosting cluster.)
Add a staging website:
To add a staging website:
- OpenΒ WebsitesΒ in the left side bar
- ClickΒ Add new
- Select eitherΒ Start from scratchΒ ,Install an appΒ orΒ Clone a websiteΒ and select theΒ Make this a staging siteΒ checkbox
- ClickΒ AddΒ to finish
Push a staging website live
To push a staging website live:
- OpenΒ WebsitesΒ in the left side bar
- Select the staging website you would like to push live
- On the website dashboard selectΒ Push live
- When the modal loads input a domain and clickΒ push liveΒ to finish
